All qualifications below diploma level offered by the REIV have scope for funded traineeships including Agents Representative and Certificate IV in Property Services.

A traineeship can be offered to all new and existing staff in a real estate agency and is an excellent way to undertake your study in a supportive and structured way.

All the training is provided off the job – either through attending contact classes, by distance education or a combination of both. Each trainee has an individual training plan devised to help them reach their goal of achieving the qualification within a period of 12 months to 2 years.

Working in real estate offers a wide variety of occupational outcomes and a real estate traineeship covers topics relevant to residential sales and property management, being a buyer’s agent, auctioneering and commercial real estate, or per the subject matter of the qualification in an agency setting.

By choosing a traineeship you will:

  • Improve the skill and knowledge of your staff
  • Help provide a point of difference for your agency
  • Build a culture of learning and professional development
  • Build positive employer–employee relationships
  • Motivate and encourage staff.

All units of study in the traineeship are assessed on competency and signed off by the REIV and the employer. Each unit of study has a written assessment and there are no exams. Students with some previous experience may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Traineeships are an accessible and affordable option for employer. More information is available on the Department of Education website.
