Member Benefits & Services

REIV Membership.

The REIV has over 7000 Members and is the industry's peak body representing Estate Agents and Agents' Representatives in Victoria.

Members comprise all areas of specialised real estate practice: Auctioneers, Residential Property Managers, Sales Consultants, Valuers, Business Brokers, Owners' Corporation Managers and Commercial and Industrial specialists.

Training & Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Members are governed by a Code of Conduct and Rules of Practice and must undertake CPD. This provides clients with the assurance that they are dealing with an estate agent who sets the professional and ethical standards in the industry.

CPD points can be acquired by undertaking a range of courses and activities offered by the REIV, other training providers and in-house training by real estate companies. CPD points can also count towards REIV accreditation as a Business Broker or Valuer.

As a Member, you have the opportunity to belong to a geographic division and/or interest group chapter. Through these groups you will be able to provide input and make recommendations to the Institute on matters affecting your business.

Meetings are held regularly – dates, times and venues are listed in the 'Members Only' section of this web site. Members of chapters and divisions also have the ability to nominate for Members' Council, which is a decision-making forum that feeds directly to the Board of Directors.

The REIV Board of Directors consists of 10 Licensed Estate Agents representing Chapters and Divisions. Election to the Board of Directors is made annually, with Board Members elected through Members' Council.

Research

REIV research is second-to-none, with a reputation as the most timely, affordable and comprehensive data available.

The REIV and realestateVIEW.com.au provide an enhanced property sales database (propertyDATA.com.au) to Members.

The recently released PDOL contains photographs, floor plans and sales data from the Valuer General.

In addition to this, the REIV and realestateVIEW.com.au have a call centre, which collects auction and private sales results.  This information is then analysed and provided to the media for publication each week. We believe this provides a better picture of the market to Members and the public.
