Government assistance

Young Buyers

Financial assistance and concessions are available from the State Government for:

  • First home buyers
  • Seniors
  • Off-the-plan purchasers
  • Young farmers.

First home owner grant A $7,000 grant for first homes valued under $750,000
First home bonus  A $13,000 grant for new homes valued under $600,000    
Regional bonus  A $6,500 grant for new homes valued under $600,000 outside metropolitan Melbourne
First home buyer duty concession  A 20% discount on stamp duty for those buying their first home valued at $600,000 or less
Seniors' duty concession A full or partial discount on stamp duty for eligible seniors
Family farm  A full or partial discount
Young farmers Stamp duty discount for farms of a certain value
Off the plan sales Lower duty for off the plan sales

The State Revenue Office administers this financial assistance and concessions and buyers should visit their website for further details on elibility and how to access them.
