The average age of home owners in Melbourne was 51 years compared to 55 years in regional Victoria.
Generally, the younger home owners were in the western suburbs such as Burnside Heights (37 years) and Truganina (36 years) or in the northern suburbs such as Derrimut (35 years) and Roxburgh Park Heights (38 years). The popularity of the growth suburbs for younger buyers is obvious when presented in a map based format.
There is also some similarity between the development of Melbourne and the age of owners.
The older home owners followed the same pattern as the overall median age being along coastal suburbs and middle-outer wester and eastern suburbs.
