Self belief and a career plan are crucial to women's career progress, particularly in a male-dominated industry, former Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon told an REIV women's series event last week.
"We have got to have some confidence in ourselves, it is a really important part, to believe you have got the knowledge, you have got the skills to pull it off," Christine said. "Women underestimate their capacities."

The sale of more than 300 Sydney carpark spaces in a weekend is a timely reminder of the growing attractiveness of car parking as a property investment, with parking availability under pressure from increasing car numbers.
The spaces in the Mascot car park near the airport sold to local and overseas investors, with some buying several double spaces at $104,500.
